Celeriac, Winter Squash, 1lb bags of garlic, Tomatoes, Curly+Dino Kale, and Bath Bombs

Lots of Announcements!

Celeriac

This week I am introducing celeriac. It is a fantastic vegetable related closely to celery. Celery and celeriac are related to one another in the same way that chard and beets are related. Think of chard as celery, and celeriac as beets because you can eat both the greens and the root of celeriac. We have tried a few and used both the roots and greens in stews recently and it's addition has really made our stews come alive. If you haven't tasted them before you will be pleasantly surprised. If you haven't seen them before you will be shocked :)

Winter Squash

Red kuri squash, acorn squash and baking pumpkins are ready to go. You may have to swap items or purcahse extras to get them added to your list.

Garlic

It seems as though many of you were banking on me for your winter galric supply and so I found some garlic to purchase from John Mills from Eagle Creek Farm. I believe that this garlic is from seed stock I sold him and it is going to be delicious. I am going to bag this up into 1 lb bags (like last year) and add them to the extras page. The variety is Red Russian.

Tomatoes

John also has a few bags of tomatoes that I am going to add to the extras page. They will be super tasty if you like tomatoes.

Kale

I am going to get back into harvesting curly kale this week but for those of you who like dinosaur kale (the darker colored kale we have been harvesting lately) I am going to leave some of this on the list for you too. You might want to take a look and make sure that you are not getting two bundles of kale in your box unless that is what you want.

Bath Bombs

I love baths and wanted to support a local business and found Happy Hippie Soul (https://www.facebook.com/happyhippiesoul). I bought some sore muscle bath bombs from Freda. After this crazy COVID summer I think that many of us could use some extra self care. Feel free to join me in supporting Freda by purchasing a bath bomb from the extras page.

Loving being your farmer!
