The recent moisture and sunny weather has been fantastic for the farm. This week we are introducing spaghetti squash. These squash are ripe and ready to go in spite of the fact that they are a pale yellow color as opposed to the vibrant color of the squash you typically get from the grocery store. The color is just about variety, not an indication of ripeness.
Away Next Week?
If you will be away next week don’t forget to log into your account by Sunday at noon to skip your box. Placing your hold before Sunday at noon helps to keep our costs down and decrease our admin load. If you need a hand, check out this tutorial showing you how to change your delivery schedule. If you miss a pick up you can contact us to reschedule your delivery for the following week. Please email info@steelpony.ca to make this change.
Delivery Tips
If you are receiving home-delivery, please leave a cooler outside if possible so that we can keep your food protected from the elements. If it’s cold, a full water bottle placed inside the cooler will provide extra insulation.
Extras
This week we are adding jars of picked garlic to the extras list. This is Steel Pony Farm garlic that was pickled by my wife MacKenzie. This pickled garlic is fantastic!
