July 3rd Pickup Rather than the 4th

Posted on June 29th, 2024 by Dave Redfearn

Don't forget, if you normally pick up on Thursday, you're delivery day will be WEDNESDAY this week.  All Thursday deliveries are moved to Wednesday so we can all enjoy a holiday.  Same time and place just a day earlier.  Friday and Saturday deliveries remain the same this week.

We're looking forward to everyone being back from camp and mission trip this week so we can catch up on all the work that didn't get done this week.  Our three oldest do quite a bit on the farm so when they are gone, we feel the pain!

We're getting very close to starting large tomato harvesting.  I don't know when they'll start turning red but there are a ton of big green ones out there.  The first of the Italian peppers are ripening.  More red and yellows going out this week.  It will be a few more weeks before they really start producing well.  The lettuces are taking a beating from all this heat.  We continue to plant even in the heat but the yield is way down.  We do still have some good producing greens.  Bok choy, kale, and chard are still looking good.  The green beans will be coming in a couple more weeks I hope.  We've already planted 3 rounds of beans along with 2 rounds of pole beans.  Pretty soon we'll be spending many hours a week picking those things.  Now we're busy trying to keep ahead of the weeds and finding windows between the rains to plant outside.

Enjoy your Independence Day and don't forget, no pickup on the 4th.  The 3rd instead!
