Happy 4th of July!! I hope you are able to spend some time with family and friends on this beautiful day! First off, WE GOT SOME RAIN!! Yup, we can breath! We picked up a full inch of rain from the thunderstorms Friday afternoon. This allows us to catch our breath, turn off the irrigation pumps, fix break downs, and regroup for our next plantings.
Farm Happenings:
- Fall cole crop planting is underway. We will be planting brussel sprouts, cauliflower, and broccoli this week. In case you were wondering the fall 'cold crops' are referred to as cole crops, in Latin cole means Stem and this is part of the brassica family (broccoli, cauliflower, sprouts, cabbage)!!
- Jackie added 2 more Farm Yoga class times!! Visit her website for more info as numbers are limited per class.
- Cut Flowers are at the farmstand!! They are a little earlier this year and they are stunning! (PS..they are a bargain!)
A heads up, the deer have been relentless and have eaten most of our 1st pepper planting. Extremely upsetting but our next plantings look amazing.
Enjoy the weekend and God Bless this great country we call home!
