Time is flying by for us on the farm and I'm sure it is for you as well! We have been blessed with some above average temps and we are taking advantage of it! We planted our first sweet corn of the season this week! Yes.. my mouth watered thinking of fresh sweet corn! Our greenhouses are filled to the brim which is exciting and nerve wrecking because this warm weather has sped up growth (good problem). We are looking forward to some rain this Sunday which will keep the ground nice and moist for good sweet corn germination.
I want to highlight 2 farms this week.. Acabonac Farms Ribeye Steak this week. We absolutely love this cut of meat as we love to grill it or our favorite, stick it in a cast iron skillet and let some Goodale Farms butter do its thing. I also want to highlight North Star farm in Riverhead who is supplying us with bison meat. I recommend making a delicious bison burger as its as real as it gets!
Also, I hope you enjoy the quick hit of farm fresh kale, swiss chard, and collard greens. These greens over winter and had regrowth and this is always welcome in our diets as we crave some fresh greens this time of year.
Enjoy your week and enjoy your goodies!
