One of my favorite combinations of the year is here. No not warm weather and shorts but that does come close, I'm talking about farm fresh strawberries and rhubarb or strawberries and lemon bread or shortcake. You can not beat the flavor of fresh local strawberries. The shelf life might be short on them but honestly, who doesn't eat them in day 1 or day 2?! I usually eat half a quart just on my ride home after work. Also, strawberry-rhubarb pie with some vanilla ice cream is a homerun for us! I recommend taking advantage of the berry season as it goes real fast.
I'm sure you heard in the news this week about the cyber attack on JBS the worlds largest meat (beef) pack house in the world. Their is a lot of weird things going on with the global and USA food infrastructure and it its painting a clear picture and helping prove our mission. Our mission is to help build a strong LOCAL food economy for our LOCAL communities! Knowing where your food comes from is food security that is vital for the survival of small farms and the overall health of our communities.
