Farm Happenings for November 12, 2019

Posted on November 10th, 2019 by John Zilnicki

Hello members!  Well the time is here.  It is your last CSA box of the season.  I cant thank you enough for being part of our 1st CSA season!  As more and more small family farms close or struggle to stay in operation, you have given us fresh hope for our farms future.  A quick stat for you; between 2012 and 2017, the nation lost nearly 70,000 (3.2 percent) of its mid-sized farms.  Your continued support keeps us going.

Some of you took the leap of faith and gave our CSA a try and we hope we met and exceeded your expectations.  You all are truly food conscious pioneers.  We hope our CSA connected you back to mother nature, cooking, enjoying fruits and vegetables, and seeing the benefits of eating fresh local in season produce.  As we get into the winter months and the produce in the grocery stores starts to travel from farther and farther destinations, I want you to see if you can taste or notice any differences in that produce verse the seasonal produce of our growing season.  We live by a few simple concepts; eat good feel good and you are what you put into your body.

We hope you liked the Harvie platform and we are excited for the future with them as they are working on many things to make it an even better experience for you and us.  We will stay in touch with farm information going forward and you will be receiving coupons codes to show our appreciation for joining our CSA for next years sign up.  Our farm stand stays open as long as weather is permitting, so stop on by if you need some veggies going forward.  We can't thank  you enough and will talk to you soon! Enjoy the veggies!

Sincerely,

Farmer John

PS: This is us having a pizza break for dinner during potato harvest season.  Yes we were hungry!
