Including local carrots from Vanderweele Farms. Elevated Oats is also a woman owned AND veteran owned business (which we think is pretty bad ass) right here in Anchorage.
It's great to still be able to enjoy the storage veggies from last season's harvest, but summer is here and that means fresh, Alaskan veggies are just around the corner! All this sun has been great for our farmers as they've been getting their starts ready to transplant into the fields. But this little stretch of rain is much needed, so we're glad to see it. We've been seeing the first indoor grown strawberries pop-up at the Vanderweele's, baby Tamworth piglets from Knik River Ranch and big, beautiful green cherry tomatoes from Gold Nugget Farm that we can't wait to see ripen!
