We have been dreaming about offering local milk for several years now, but there was never enough to get our hands on any. Luckily, that has changed! Alaska Range Dairy in Delta Junction has been expanding and we will now be helping them distribute their amazing milk in South Central.
Their grass-fed milk is different from what you normally see in stores--this is the GOOD stuff! It is minimally processed, not homogenized or separated, and is vat pasteurized. This keeps the milk in its most natural form and retains the best flavor and quality. Since it is not homogenized, the cream will rise to the top and is known as "cream top" milk. In an effort to be as environmentally friendly as possible, they use returnable/reusable glass bottles (also just a cool old school nod to how milk used to come!).
HOW TO ORDER: Milk will be listed as an extra item in Harvie. We will label your milk separately and put it IN THE COOLER at your pickup site. For home delivery, we recommend leaving a cooler outside for us to put it in. There is a $3 bottle deposit included in the price. Return RINSED bottles, LABELLED WITH YOUR NAME on a piece of tape to our warehouse, to get that amount credited to your account. We will leave milk crates outside for you to leave them in anytime.
