Customize your Veggie Selection
Important Customizing Info!
-All the veggies and meats have different values- some are lower and some are higher depending on type and size of the items that I put into the program's harvest selection.
-There is a box value alert at the top of your screen if you have more credit for this week- a green bar that says you can add more items to your share/box.
-There is a box value alert at the top of your screen if you have more credit for this week- a green bar that says you can add more items to your share/box.
-The other customizing tip that I have noticed that helps members, is to keep adding items to your box until your shopping cart's total is just over your share's price...for example if you have a $25 regular veggie share, go over the box value by $1-3...so about $25.50 or $26.30 or something like that. That green bar with the box value alert should go away at that time.
--------Check out all the types of peppers that I've added to the harvest selection. Mild aji peppers, hot aji peppers, jalapenos, poblanos, mild banana peppers. Okra is really loving this weather. If you love okra, consider swapping a smaller pint for okra for a quart of okra. Have you every harvested okra? Suit up and wear long sleeves and gloves! We're spending hours and hours harvesting every day in the prickly, dense jungle of okra. Pepper harvest is starting to increase- full size peppers must wait on the plant for about 14 days before they turn from green to red. We are harvesting butternut squash today- full sweat with heavy buckets. And we'll make sure to water all the poor little fall baby plants so they can survive and really grow as soon as it cools down a little bit. Wish us a bountiful harvest and a successful curing period! The butternuts need to cure or dry/heal for a few weeks to harden their skin and stems and during this time, the flesh becomes sweeter. So expect butternut by mid September.>>>just in time for the fall CSA season to start September 24th and 25th. Look for more info about our fall farm food shares in the coming weeks.
