We're so excited the first week of our CSA is finally here! We have lots of spring veggies available including lettuce, green onions and more. As you know, we are using some new software this year for our CSA called Harvie. Please bear with us as we learn the new software with you and work out any bugs that might turn up. We believe Harvie will help you get even more value out of your CSA this season. Don't hesitate to ask questions or contact us or Harvie support if something comes up. We've been busy working on weeding on the farm this past week and so far we're managing to stay ahead of the weeds this year! Our full time, seasonal employee Caitlyn has been outstanding and without her help we would definitely be behind on the weeds as well as other tasks on the farm. The heat and humidity has had an impact on the farm. Some of our romaine has started to bolt. That is, some of the romaine is starting to form seed heads and is no longer fit for sale. That's somewhat expected when we have multiple days of 90 degree or more heat. Similarly, our arugula has bolted. Luckily, we have more successions of lettuce coming and the heat has abated for now. Other crops like sweet corn, melons and green beans love the heat and have really grown a lot in the past few days. We have a few new crops coming in soon. We picked the first of our snap peas this season which only amounted to enough for a meal for Lara and I but there's more on the way! We hope to have snap peas in the shares within the next couple weeks. We also have kohlrabi and beets close to ready! Progress on our new pack shed is also coming along. Our contractor is on schedule to have our shed done by mid July and we can't wait to move in. It's really going to be a game changer for our farm!
