***PLEASE READ THE FARM HAPPENINGS***
This is where we let you know of upcoming events, important and sometimes urgent updates, special happenings & basically anything we want you to know for the upcoming share week.
Hello Everyone,
Another week of sunshine! Hope everyone is enjoying these beautiful summer days.
Pictured Above: One of our awesome share packers, Mitch!
Mitch is showing off our green bio bags. Many produce items in the boxes need to be covered to keep them fresh and sometimes protected from the other items! Will also put potatoes n these bags when they go into the Winer Shares they are very dirty! Literally, we leave all of the dirt on them! Leaving the dirt on the storage potatoes helps keep the stable all winter long. :)
Fun Fact: Some vegetables, likes carrots, naturally give off an aroma that contains a naturally occurring chemical that causes some other produce to break down much faster. (This is why you have different produce drawers in your fridge!) These bio-bags help prevent this too while they are sitting in your share.
We use to use recycled plastic bags, but we really wanted to decrease our plastic use! So we made the switch to these green bio-degradable bags. If you these in your shares, you can put them in your compost bin after you've put you share items in the fridge.
So what's new?
