Week 2 of 20;
- Welcome to first time share members, we hope you enjoy your first season with us.
- Welcome back to returning members! Thank for continuing to support our family farm.
- Our Summer Program is 20 Weeks Total:
- You may not be getting a share every week (based on what you picked; weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly)
- This is how we show everyone what point of the season we are in.
HOME DELIVERY: It's hot outside in the summer!
- If you are on home delivery, please consider investing in a cooler.
- The cooler should be big enough to fit your share into. You should know roughly how much you receive by the number of shares you order.
- We can empty contents into a cooler upon request OR
- If your cooler is big enough, we can place the box right inside.
- These keep your produce fresh & safe from the elements incase you are not going to be home.
- If you have a meat share as well, consider getting 2!

BE SURE YOU SET YOUR PREFERENCES!
- If you haven't yet, Please log into your account and set your preferences for every item we have (yes every item!). This is how the program customizes your boxes. Plus we use these preferences in cases where we need to manually make up your share.
- You can change your preferences any time if you want to shake up what items you may get in your boxes.
Please Return Boxes & Red Cooler Bags
- Yes! We takes these back.
- Veggie Boxes
- Remove you sticker with your name on it
- Fold the boxes down so they are flat
- Pop the bottom in, the pull on the flaps out until flat.
- Leave out side on your delivery day for us to pick up while we drop off your new one!
- OR Bring with you to leave at your pick up location for us to collect.
- Red Bags
- Remove you sticker with your name on it
- If you order a freezer item, you will get a red bag
- Leave the water bottle inside it.
- Plastic Produce containers:
- Green, small containers
- Strawberries often come in these
- Egg Cartons
- We only accept 12’s cartons
- Must be clean
- Mason Jars
- Must be the mason jar style
- 1L, 500 ml, or 250ml
- Must be clean
DO NOT RETURN:
- Compostable Green Bags: Dispose of in your green bin or garbage.
- Plastic Coopers Bags: Dispose of in garbage (we are switching to composable bags)
- Plastic Containers: Recycle
- Maple Syrup Jars:
- Unfortunately we cannot reuse these
- Please recycle
- Non-Mason Jars:
- Ex. Spaghetti Sauce Jars
- These are not resealable OR the right sizes, we cannot use these.
Pumpkins are planted!
- We've planted a lot of acres of pumpkins.
- Come visit us in the fall time when they're ready so you can pick your own!
Baby Turkeys
- Our baby turkeys are here.
- We have a limited number. When the times comes, we will post how we are going to sell them.
Chicken available in the extras
- Chicken for dinner!
- We have a variety of cuts for you to choose from.
1st Cut!
- This term means we have cut our rye grass fields & our hay fields for the first time.
- These are used to make animal feed.
- The rye grass will not grow back, so we will plant another grass crop in its place to cut later this summer.
- The hay fields have a variety of grasses that will grow back, so we are able to get multiple cuts off of one crop.
Frost Damage Causing some delayed crops
- Last Saturday morning we had temps drop below Zero.
- We did indeed lose some crops such as a section of our sweet corn, basil, melons, tomatillos, and some squash.
- Luckily it is still early in the season so we replanted these crops!
- This is just a part of farming & we have to roll with the punches
Crops coming soon!
- Strawberries: We had extra frost protection on these fields so they made it through
- We are hoping to have these available the end of June
- Other crops coming on:
- Spinach
- Lettuce
- Green Onions
- Swiss Chard
- Kale
- Garlic scapes
Lots of Livestock around!
- Cows & calves
- Calving season began mid May and is still going
- Lots of chickens & baby chicks
- Baby Turkeys arrived last week
- Piglets are now 6 weeks old!
The Mexicanos are here!
- We have all 4 of our crew here, we are super grateful to have them.
- They were a big hand in kicking off spring planting!
Vaccinated!
- Thanks to the help of Durham Health department, we were able to get all of our staff vaccinated.
- We are very thankful to be able to safely continue producing food for ours & your families.
