Week 3 of 20
Summer Begins!
- Another growing season officially begins.
- If you are new, welcome! If you are returning, welcome back :).
- The farm happenings will help you keep up to date on what's going on at the farm.
Premium Ontario Lamb is now available!
- We finally have some lamb available for you to swap into your shares.
- There is a very limited quantity available.
- Check the "swap" menu for the items.
- We have leg roast, loin chops, kabob chunks & ground.
Potential U-Pick Strawberries this weekend!
- We have lots of berries in the field and we may open it up for picking.
- Watch your emails just in case we do!
Closing the store early on Saturday June 25th *Affects Pick up Members*
- We will be closing early due to a reception we are hosting for Trenton & Kelsey's wedding!
- It was postponed multiple times due to covid.
- The store will be open from 10am-3pm.
Are you getting Home Delivery? Invest in a cooler for your meat/freezer orders!
- If you have signed up for a home delivery route, we highly suggest getting a cooler for us to leave your meat & frozen orders in while it waits for you to get home because it gets very hot in the summer!
- We take back the red/black cooler bags!!
- Please return the bags, containers, and other farm items. Don't recycle them! We reuse.
- Leave them out your following delivery & the driver will grab them.
Last-minute holiday & you need to postpone your shares?
- No problem!
- Simply reschedule your share to another available week. (often you will be doubling up the week you choose)
- This can be done on your online profile.
- Please DO NOT put your share on hold, reschedule it immediately.
- We ask this because what happens is you forget to reschedule the share & come the end of the season, you miss out on a box you've paid for. :(
Preferences
- If you haven't, please visit your online profile & set your preferences for each item!
- This helps your shares be made more to your liking.
- You can change these anytime you want.
- We suggest having a good balance and trying everything before you give items a 0 rating.
Chickens on pasture!
- We have a new breed of meat birds! Rustic Rangers
- Besides the cool name, these birds have many great qualities;
- They have better genes, which helps for healthy growth.
- They graze really well which makes the great pasture chickens!
- They have a fun colour, we are used to white chickens but the new breed is a brown/black colour.
Avian Flu & Visiting our Farm
- Avian flu is a virus that causes death in poultry & wild birds.
- It is a very serious virus that can result in us having to put down our entire flock if they catch it.
- Our farm is now in the zone where avian flu has been wreaking havoc.
- We ask that if you have birds at home (chickens, turkey, duck etc.) have contact with birds ie. a vet's office, walks by a pond with birds etc.... that you please DO NOT COME TO OUR FARM.
- If you need to pick up a share we need to arrange a safe pick up time at the end of our driveway.
- Please email us if you may be in this situation.
- We thank you immensely for your cooperation.
Farm Store in Zephyr is open Thursday-Sundays. (See calendar on website)
Please Return Boxes & Red Cooler Bags!
- Home Delivery: Please leave the box & containers out for the drivers to pick up.
- Pick Up Locations: Leave the box and/or items there and we will pick them up.
- To Return Veggie Boxes
- Remove the sticker with your name on it
- Fold the boxes down so they are flat
- Pop the bottom in, the pull on the flaps out until flat.
- Return Red Bags
- We accept 12 slot egg cartons & mason jar returns.
