Week 3
We are excited that the warm weather has sped up the growing of our zucchini, which we will begin harvesting this week! The warm weather also marks an abrupt stop to all of our broccolini plantings which have gone to flower in all the heat, a major disappointment. Spring broccolini has a somewhat short season, typically unpredictable due to the increasing warm daytime temperatures, but rest assured we will have an outstanding (albeit more predictable) Fall crop. Over the past week we have been busy planting so many things including parsley, okra, lettuce, baby bok choi, melons, zucchini and cucumbers. This week marks the end of May and the beginning of June which is a sign of a peak work load for farm tasks.
