Week 9
Now we can finally celebrate summer with the arrival of our 2022 melon crop. It was exciting this past Friday to be back out in another melon field searching amongst the vines for ripe melons. Over the years we have refined our varieties (with smaller melons that actually fit inside CSA boxes) for size, flavor and texture. This year we are maintaining our standard varieties; mini round watermelons, small oblong watermelons and mini orange/yellow fleshed watermelons, as well as our super sweet cantaloupes. As always, we are searching for some newer melons to add to our lineup, and if successful, we'll put them into our CSA inventory for everyone to try. We hope to have a continual supply of our various melons throughout the season, fingers crossed for more hot dry weather!
