D&V Organics CSA
Week 8
It's hard to believe we're already a third of the way through this year's CSA season. All the Spring things are pretty much finishing up in the field and we are moving into more Summer items over the next few weeks. It has been a few years since we last had a pick-your-own flower patch, but this year we planned for and planted a nice selection of flowers next to the farmhouse, at the front of the farm. This year's flower types include calendula, zinnia, rudbeckia, black eyed Susan, statice and gomphrena. CSA members wishing to pick their own flowers are welcome to do so, but we ask you to bring your own scissors or cutting tool with you for cutting your own flowers. The pick-your-own flowers are available to pick during CSA hours, 3:30pm - 7:30pm, Wednesdays and Fridays, we ask that you drive slowly into and out of the farm and park downhill from the house in the CSA parking area. Additionally, we have planted basil in this patch, so members wishing to pick their own basil for processing into pesto or for fresh use are a welcome to do so as well.
Enjoy,
Derek and Crew
