D&V Organics CSA
Week 11
This week's picture probably doesn't look like much, but under that mat of vines and leaves is our first cantaloupe and watermelon crop of the year! We picked a modest amount of cantaloupes at the end of the week here, so we are looking forward to many weeks of cantaloupe, as well as some watermelons in about another week. The Summer work continues around the farm with some cleanup after our Spring crops, but we are already in Fall planting mode now. Over the past couple weeks we have been busy seeding radicchio, fennel, parsley, broccoli, broccolini, cabbage and baby bok choi to name a few, which will all be coming along and available come September. Our work to prepare for the Fall will continue over the next several weeks as we continue to grow an even greater diversity of green things, prepare more fields and then plant the seedlings. Life and seasonality is constantly evolving on the farm and the cool crisp days of Fall will sooner be our reality.
Enjoy,
Derek and Crew
