D&V Organics CSA
Week 15
Our next batch of watermelon is coming on, so we'll be looking forward to including those this week! The second planting of cantaloupe took the rain pretty hard and is not looking good any longer, but our third planting of cantaloupe is taking some time and we should be back to harvesting cantaloupe for the following week. While there's some reluctance to call rain good, especially with field tomatoes and melons that don't do well with it, the rain did provide some much needed moisture and has allowed us to prepare a nice portion of ground for our Fall crops. We have been hard at work this week planting seedlings in the field. So far we have kale, chard, broccolini, cabbage, broccoli and bok choi planted, so we should be seeing some of the first of our Fall greens here in a few short weeks, which will be a welcome addition.
Enjoy,
Derek and Crew
