D&V Organics CSA Week 2

D&V Organics CSA

Week 2

We hope everyone is making their way through the first week's csa boxes.  Unlike the stores, we don't have everything coming off the fields or out of the greenhouse all the time.  Growing produce is a seasonal venture for us in our location, and as the season progresses new crops come in and old crops go out of season.  The start of our season is pretty greens heavy, lots of leafy green things that like the cooler temperatures of Spring.  As we move further into Spring, our broccolini and cauliflower plants mature as well as our zucchini and cucumbers.  When the weather heats up, nearing Summer, our greatest diversity of items start to flourish; tomatoes, potatoes, peppers, watermelon, cantaloupe, okra (everyone's favorite) and so much more.  Fall nears the end of our season, and is somewhat similar to the Spring, greens heavy, but also with the addition of onions, garlic, potatoes and a few other things.  Each year is a fun journey along the seasons through the lens of our farm and the produce we can grow.

Enjoy,

Derek and Crew
