The memories of the 9/11 attack have been with us all week. Many of us can remember where we were when we heard the news. I was in the kitchen at the farmhouse that morning. We were preparing for the demolition and burial of the 110 year old dairy barn and silo. We said a prayer when the silo went down in its own concrete pile of rubble. We were overcome with sadness with such a simple symbolic act.
Our week on the farm was interesting. We received an email about 1 1/2 weeks ago from the show called Discover Wisconsin. They wanted to come out to our farm to do some filming. Talk about people in motion from daylight to sundown. Sprucing up everywhere. Mowing, weeding, sweeping, setting up for Autumn displays, updates in the store etc. I think we did pretty good all in all. The host, Eric, was pretty easy to work off from. Gail was the Farm spokes person. Eric was a City boy, so, tasting and watching reactions were pretty entertaining. They were here for 4 hours and the result will most likely be only 5 minutes on the whole show....i guess we will see, in about 1 year. The theme will be Autumn in Wisconsin.
How did you like the bread? The "Produce Squad" enjoyed BLTs for lunch with ours. As days progress, we will be offering an array of their breads as an "Add On". Watch for the delicious choices.
As always, take care and remember you are always welcome here on the farm.
