Greetings to all you folks. I hope you had a safe holiday. Now that school has started, all the fun Labor Day celebrations (Minn. State Fair, Ridgeland tractor pull, Port Wing fish boil etc.) are done, I guess it is back to work.
Speaking of work, we would like to give a moment to Mom at Union Hmong Kitchen. The photo is in dedication to Mom's hard work. Yia Vang's mom headed up a crew to make a traditional pork dumpling called, Galabao, for the Minn. State fair. They made over 20,000 Galabaos. I heard once they were afraid they were going to run out, so they all headed back to the kitchen in an effort to keep up. DragSmith Farms also went to the fair with Union Hmong Kitchen. We have designed a special mix of greens that they served at the fair and are included on their menu at the Northloop location.
Here at the farm, things are definitely grim as far as the fields are concerned. After that heat outburst last weekend even the weeds are wilting and everything is crunchy. We can see the acorn and delicata winter squash have squashes. They are not ripe yet, but they are coming. Something to look forward to.
As always have a great week and remember you are always welcome.
