This past week we managed to turn over some of the greenhouse spaces and seed most of the cover crops needed in the new blocks Pat has created for veggie production next year. With the wonderful rain we have been getting, the cover crops have all germinated and are looking great!
Our own sweet corn is just starting to ripen now so we will have small amounts as it matures. Our sweet corn is a different variety than the Forman Farms corn, so it's best to eat ours soon after receiving it rather than leaving it a couple days in the fridge.
This is the first week that we will have some potatoes available! The variety we will harvest this week will be small with red skin and they are delicious!! We will have a few different kinds over the next few weeks.
Since the nighttime temperatures have begun to sink pretty low our tomatoes are starting to slow down. If you're someone who does any saucing or preserving it might be a good idea to think about ordering in bulk, if you need it, pretty soon.
Again this week we will have herbs from Sarah at Barking Root Botanicals and grains from Against the Grain Farms available!
