Week 21~ Next week is our LAST week of the Fall Season! Please be sure and mark your calendar for Saturday November 5th! This is our annual Family Farm Day! We LOVE to host our families at our farm on this day. It's a wonderful time to see the farm, meet our farmers, take a wagon ride around the fields and pick your own produce. We will have pony cart rides for the kids and even some bareback horse rides. Your family will love it! Pack a lunch and come spend the day with us!
This week we have some Rome Apples and Arkansas Black Apples from the Miller farm. These apples are not organic, but they are minimally sprayed. Remember, the average age of an apple at the grocery store is 14 months. These apples are fresh picked and loaded with nutrients! Enjoy! We also have a small number of our field peas. They are delicious, just shell them and cook! They are creamy and so good! The greens are still coming in strong as are the peppers, winter squash, potatoes and hibiscus. The hibiscus flowers make a lovely tea. Just peel the leaves off of the pod, let them dry on a paper towel and then store in a mason jar. You will have tea all winter. The key is to make sure that the leaves are totally dry - don't skimp on this part! :)
Have a wonderful week, friends!
