Herbal News and Upcoming Harvests
Greetings CSA members! Ready this week for harvest amongst the young medicinal herb plants is holy basil or otherwise known as tulsi. Holy basil is a fragrant, delicious member of the basil family with many medicinal properties such as easing anxiety, reducing inflammation and promoting wellbeing, along with culinary uses that enliven any meal. At this time, 10 bunches will be available for purchase with more coming soon as the plant rejuvenates and new seeds are sown. Keep an eye out for more upcoming herbal harvests in the next few weeks. Lemon balm, peppermint and nasturtiums should be ready soon!
Additionally, look for a Pinterest Board for Frey Family Farm. Some members have been asking for a recipe swap space, and ideas for preserving veggies for later use. Harvie does have the pull down menu suggestions for your veggies each week, but many members are interested in what other members are making, and how they save veggies for later use! Madeline is working on this from Pullman this week, so we hope to be live by Friday!
