Hello folks!
Summer is in full swing here...the weeds are growing quickly but so are the veggies:).
This week we have LOTS of baby lettuce, yellow beans and fresh (uncured) garlic. You can use fresh garlic in all of the same ways you use cured garlic but once you have opened the bulb, make sure you store it in a container in the fridge (like you would a cut onion); it has a higher moisture content and will not keep on the counter once the skin is peeled back.
Maybe you would like to try your fresh garlic with some yellow beans or some sweet little baby potatoes?! Last year we must have left some potatoes in the soil at harvest time because we have an entire crop popping up in our asparagus patch (where our potatoes were last year). We have sampled them and they are DELICIOUS but we are not sure how many there will be so have only added a limited quantity to the store. We will leave them for swaps and add on's only so that everyone has a chance at them:). Hopefully we manage to harvest them all this time but if not, we can't really complain about having sweet early potatoes that we didn't even need to plant!
Wishing everyone a great week.
