Farm Happenings for week of June 2, 2020

Posted on May 25th, 2020 by Harvie Admin

Welcome to those of you receiving your first Harvie Farms Pittsburgh delivery. Our small team has been preparing for these first weeks of the farm share season since the wintertime. It is very gratifying to now be actually delivering the best local foods we can find for you!

Please note that going forward this email will go out on Thursday by lunch. You will have until 7am Friday to make any edits to your box for the following week.

First Time Customers: If this is your first week, you can find our newsletter from last week here. It has some helpful content about customizing your share, add-on shares, and returning packaging (box, insulated liner, and ice packs) back to us. You can also view a short video on our suggested way of opening a Harvie box so that it can be easily returned to us.

Local Farm Partners: We know this may be a somewhat new and unfamiliar process for selecting your groceries. But we appreciate your willingness to try this out as we attempt to create a mutually beneficial connection between our hard-working local farmers and our supportive community. Our hope is to create some content in the coming weeks to introduce you to our farm partners. This week we have products from Clarion River Organics, Who Cooks For You Farm, Grow Pittsburgh, Strawberry Hill Organic Farm, Weatherbury Farm, Bedillion's Honey, Lancaster Farm Fresh, and Jubilee Hilltop Ranch among others.

Looking to Hire: I also want to mention our hard-working crew at Harvie Farms Pittsburgh. We are very lucky to have highly skilled and motivated staff that work hard to custom pack each and every box. It's a challenging job--especially as we wear masks and gloves to make sure we are shipping you safe products. But we have fun and it's very rewarding work. If you or someone you know is interested in working on the Packing Crew at Harvie Farms, please send me an email. I can provide a job description. We are looking for more help now. :)

Best regards,

Neil Stauffer, on behalf of the Harvie Farms Pittsburgh team
