Farm Happenings for Week of July 14, 2020

Posted on July 7th, 2020 by Harvie Admin

So many new products this week. Thanks for your patience as we pull it all together. Peaches, blueberries, and even a limited supply of our first artisan tomatoes. The bounty of summer has arrived.

Without further adieu, enjoy swapping and adding to your farm shares. We hope the fresh goodness brings a little joy to your week.

For those you receiving a butcher box, you'll notice some more pork products available this week. I even hear rumors that we may have some bacon coming before too long!

Cheese Share Winemaker's Select from Clover Creek Cheese Cellar--a three-month-aged mild Asiago style marinated in Cabernet Sauvignon.

This cheese comes from an old friendship Clover Creek and the Vineyard at Grandview. The vineyard asked the farmers to complement a cheese with their Cabernet Sauvignon. As a result, Clover Creek takes a wheel of three-month-aged Uncle Joe's and marinate it in the wine for 5-7 days to create our Winemaker's Select.

Ingredients: Cultured raw milk, salt, rennet and wine.

Thanks for all of your ongoing support. Every conversation I have with our farmers they remind me just how vital the Harvie Farms customers are to their business. We hope to bring you more farm reports in the coming weeks.

Stay safe out there,

Neil, on behalf of the Harvie Farms crew

ps--This week's photo comes from 3 Springs Fruit Farm. They use Integrated Pest Management (IPM) to limited the amount of sprays they have to use on their fruit crops. And while the cold weather in May knocked back their early peach supply, they will be loaded with all types of peaches in the upcoming weeks.
