These pictured goats are lucky enough to live at Goat Rodeo Farm & Dairy in Allison Park. Steve and India Loevner run this highly successful and sustainable farm that focuses on goats and grass. But they also use cow milk from a neighboring dairy farm to make some of their award winning cheeses (like the "More Cowbell" featured in the cheese share this week).
We hope all of you are doing well on yet another hot and dry week. Our growers are counting on rain later today (Thursday), which means they are working double-speed to prepare fields before the needed wet weather arrives.
Cheese Share: More Cowbell from Goat Rodeo A semi-firm cave aged mountain style cheese made from Le-Ara Farm’s cow’s milk in a unique black cream wax rind. The complex herbal flavor pairs well with mild younger red wines like Beaujolais or drier white wines like Sancerre. Crafted in 6 pound wheels.

Quality Control & Shortages A good number of you may have noticed last week that we ran short on a few items, namely garlic and blueberries. We apologize for this inconvenience and realize that you are counting on the items in your box for meals each week. Please note that we will continue to work hard to reduce and eliminate these issues. We have added a credit to the accounts that were shorted on those two items. Please feel free to reach out to us if you ever think your box was mis-packed or if you have quality control concerns. We stand behind our products, and we will do our best to make any issues up to you. If you're not enjoying your boxes for some reason, we would like to know. :)
Bread Share Survey Thank you to all of the bread share members who took the time to fill out our short survey. The results were insightful, and the biggest takeaway was that you may have a favorite loaf, but you really love the variety. So we will keep working to switch it up. Some folks wanted non-sourdough breads as well. But for now, we are going to keep it to what we originally advertised, which was a sourdough bread share. This week, we return the Steel City Sourdough, which had more "5 star" votes than any of our breads.
Stay safe out there,
Neil Stauffer, on behalf of the Harvie Farms Pittsburgh crew
