Pictured is Lori from Hidden Hills Dairy. Read on below to find out more about her farm and the cheese share for this coming week.

All of our farms have been craving rain, how about you? It's been a hot and dry July, and some crops are fairing better than others. But with the collection of various local farms that we partner with, we hope you find a full box of local foods that you are excited about this week. You may note that we have added to the diversity and volumes of our produce options. The cheeses and dry goods are still available--but you may have to swap or add items to your box to choose them. We hope this helps everyone get as much as possible of the fresh produce items available during this peak season.

Cheese Share: Allegheny from Hidden Hills Dairy Hidden Hills is owned and operated by Lori Sollenberger and her husband, Rex Knepp, in Everitt, PA. They manage and milk Jersey cows on the rolling hills of their farm. The Allegheny cheese is based on a recipe for an Italian style cheese traditionally made in the summer in the plateau region of the Dolomites. This version is adapted to our wintertime whole milk in the rolling foothills of the Alleghenies. Read more about them on their website: http://www.hiddenhillsdairy.com/.

Meat Share Liners and Ice Packs We have heard from many of you that you would like the opportunity to reuse the liners and ice packs from your meat boxes the same way that you do with the farm boxes. So we are working toward adding a clear plastic liner to our meat boxes so that you can do just that. If your meat box comes with a clear plastic liner, then feel free to send back the metal thermal liner and ice pack. We are in a transition for this packaging detail. So please keep that in mind.

We are so grateful for the support from all of you, our Pittsburgh food community. Stay safe out there!
