Hi friends! After a somewhat slow start this Spring due to high winds and high heat early in the season, our garden is starting to burst at the seams! New this week are basil and cherry tomatoes, with full sized tomatoes, tomatillos, green beans, melons and more are coming soon!
That being said, it's time already for us to start planting for Fall so we need to know if you'll be joining us or not. We have 5 more weeks of the summer season and then the first week of September starts our Fall shares. It will run every other week from Sept 5 & 6th through Nov 14 & 15. Pickup locations and times will remain the same. Prices are as follows: Small $23/week, Medium $29/week, Large $35/week. Weekly offerings for our Fall shares will include late summer favorites like tomatoes, peppers, tomatillos, cucumbers, etc., and as the weather turns cooler, we will then move into cold-weather crops like sweet peas, cabbage, spinach, pumpkins and winter squash. Salad greens, kale, swiss chard and other greens will also continue to be available.
An auto-renew has been set up through Harvie for Friday, August 3rd as a convenience to you to hold your spot, and to help us know how many shares are available to sell to the public. Current CSA members will always receive future CSA shares before offering them outside the CSA, to the rest of the community.
Keep in mind also that we will have a special Thanksgiving share available on Nov 20th. It will feature potatoes, pumpkins and other Thanksgiving favorites grown in our garden. Make your Thanksgiving festivities totally local this year by ordering a Turkey from Boot Hill Farms too! If you're interested in a turkey, please let us or Rick Bell know so they know how many to order and raise. Have you ever had a turkey raised just for you and your family before?! We're also excited to offer homemade dinner rolls, pumpkin pie and other Thanksgiving extras that week so look forward to that!
