Happy 9th week of Summer Shares! We're continuing our fall preparations. The 1600 seeds we planted last week are sprouted and growing well. We all worked together to get the majority of our high tunnel Ernie cleared of old produce and weeds to make room... The pigs loved it! We had two heaping trailer loads of greens that we put in a pile for the pigs and they rooted their way through and ate it surprisingly quickly! In other news, tomatoes are finally on along with bell and hot peppers! We ate our first fresh salsa last night! We are now able to pull about 100 lbs of tomatoes a week from our plants and, within a few weeks, we should be up to our 400+ lbs a week full production level... So much deliciousness! We left the hustle and bustle of city life to raise our children in the country. Getting into agriculture is a decision we've never regretted! Now we lovingly grow fresh food together as a family on our small farm. It's food we trust, and you can too! We want to feed our children the best we can, so we grow high-quality fruits, vegetables, and meats - everything from Arugula to Zucchini; Chicken and pork! - all free of chemicals, synthetic fertilizers, herbicides, and pesticides.
