Beauty in the busy!

Posted on August 16th, 2024 by Lindy Clark

Hello All!

We are all doing well this week, we had a surprise visit from some family, and we enjoyed that! We're getting into the season where we've got tons of everything! We're so busy at the farmers market these days that we can't remember everyone who comes through!! We are still selling out of most things when we go though, so it looks like we planted the correct amount for what we need! We were able to plant more beets and radishes and lettuce, but we may have a small gap in our lettuce production as we had a bunch die on us because it was so hot when they went in. We do have a bunch of lettuce started inside for our fall planting, and we have more radishes that are going to go in soon!

We have enough tomatoes this week that we can make some homemade salsa for yall, and we have our first batch of hot sauce out and ready for purchase!! If you like hot sauce, you will like this. It is Fermented poblanos, jalepenos and big jims along with onions and garlic! It is FANTASTIC! We're making 2 other batches this week and we'll probably start a third next week! The salsa will probably be a mild.

We will have a super greens salad mix this week so that we can stretch our lettuce a bit longer! It will have Lettuce, Kale, and Chard. We'll also have some kale and chard bunches. We'll also have some summer squash, tomatoes, Basil, Dill, and Mint. We'll have some poblanos, Jalepenos, Big jims, bell peppers, and Bananna peppers.

We're excited to see everyone next week! We hope that you are getting less busy and have a bit of a reprieve from going going going all the time! Have a wonderful weekend!

Gratefully, your Farmers Ben and Lindy Clark
