Fresh on our minds this week has been the arrival of grape harvest. Our first red grapes, Marechal Foch, are a hybrid between American and European grape species. It is adapted to grow faster and withstand the harsher American climate. Early ripening is part of this scene and it regularly ripens end of August. In the next couple weeks we will be harvesting for our Grass Widow Rose with Marechal Foch red right behind. A very fun time of year where we have grape stomping, juice tasting, and fermentation heavy in the air!
