Happy Favas Day!
What an abundance of produce we have for you this week.
The fava beans are the nicest we've ever grown. If you haven't tried them before please get some this week, they are delicious!
Freshly harvested Walla Walla onions-sweet, crisp and yummy. We harvested hundreds of pounds on Wednesday. Started from seed last September, transplanted and covered in November they rooted themselves in for the winter and then BOOM have been growing all spring.
The strawberries have waned just as the black raspberries are coming in for fruit share. yummy!
We thought the sun gold cherry tomatoes would be ready last week...but alas I jumped the gun. We are picking a few pints this weekend for markets so I'm hoping there will be a few pints in the extras for CSA.
We are planting watermelon and more summer squash this week. Seeding trays of winter squash, transplanting okra, more mini broccoli, and, of course, lettuce. With the cool temperatures the lettuce is thriving. We aim to offer our tender, young lettuces all year round...so far it's been a breeze but tough times are ahead. Hot weather is rough on the lettuce. We'll keep you posted.
Stop by one of our markets this weekend to pick up your favorites and say hello, we'd love to see you!
Cheers,
Lisa
