Are you enjoying the beautiful weather we're having?
How was your first weeks share? Enjoyed it? Shoot me an email with your favorite item or put a short post on the FB family page-we'd love to see what you're doing with this good food.
The sunshine has been a welcome change after a rocky start to our strawberry season with too much rain and pesky slugs.
But fear not, our strawberries are finally shaping up and are bursting with flavor and nutrients. Packed with Vitamin C and phytonutrients, our strawberries, as always, are never sprayed with pesticides, so you can enjoy them without worry. I'm hoping to add on some as extras this week for those who do not have a fruit share.
In addition to our usual offerings, we have a special treat for you this week: Blue Oyster mushrooms and Lion's Mane mushrooms.
Blue Oyster mushrooms are delicious. They are known for their anti-inflammatory and immune-boosting properties, making them a great addition to any meal and your health.
Lion's Mane mushrooms are a unique and powerful mushroom with numerous health benefits. They are known for their cognitive-enhancing properties, helping to improve focus, memory, and overall brain function. They are also packed with antioxidants and anti-inflammatory compounds, making them a great addition to your diet.
We are excited to offer you these special mushrooms from Mossy Trail Farm right here in Freeland.
We have beautiful lettuce this week, baby fennel, kale, bright pink and purple radishes, cucumbers from the high tunnel (with a few scars) and some ugly Napa Cabbage. The pests got a hold of it before we did but it still tastes good and is good for you!
And get your GARLIC SCAPES. Woo Hoo. They are here and they are tasty.
As always, thank you for your support of our farm and for being a part of our CSA community. We appreciate each and every one of you.
Happy eating!
xo,
Lisa
