Whole Season Share #2 HFM

Posted on June 5th, 2024 by Lisa Duff

How was your first weeks share?

Enjoyed it?

Shoot me an email with your favorite item or put a short post on the FB family page-we'd love to see what you're doing with this good food.

We have beautiful lettuce this week, baby fennel, kale, chard, bright pink and purple radishes, cucumbers from the high tunnel (with a few scars) and small, tender zucchini.

And get your GARLIC SCAPES. Woo Hoo. They are here for a limited time and they are tasty.

Also PLEASE REMEMBER lettuce grows in soil. Soil contains bacteria. To be SAFE always wash produce well especially if you plan to eat it well. Lettuce should always be washed using the process below.

Proper directions for cleaning your vegetables:
**Washing fruits and vegetables with vinegar kills up to 98% of bacteria on the surface of your produce. Use 1 part white vinegar to 3 parts water for your vinegar bath. Soak fruits and veggies in vinegar bath for 2 minutes.

As always, thank you for your support of our farm and for being a part of our CSA community.

We appreciate each and every one of you.

Happy eating!

Lisa
