It seems like every year we are surprised by September. As Drew puts it, June is a "hurry up and wait" kind of month, July is exciting as the farm starts to hit its stride for the summer, and August goes by in the blink of an eye. Year after year we are shocked that it is already time for Labor Day Weekend to come and go. While September does sneak up on us in the cadence of the farm season, it is also one of the best times of the year. We still have 10(!) weeks to go on the CSA calendar and we will have several weeks to enjoy the tail end of summer crops combined with the return of fall favorites. Want to sneak in a cookout on a hot evening? Grab some tomatoes and basil for a quick no-cook side dish. Cold front coming up in the weather forecast? Potatoes and butternut squash are ready for that first fall comfort food dish.

About the farm
One Straw Farm is a family owned and operated vegetable farm in Northern Baltimore County, Maryland. Lovingly tended by Drew and Joan Norman since 1983. One Straw Farm supplies families, restaurants and wholesalers with the finest produce. The goal of farming is more than simply growing a satiable crop, but also the responsibility of safeguarding the integrity of the land we cultivate. Each week we promise you a provision of sustainable produce with a responsible ecological footprint. We extend our value base into the creation of a strong relationship with our market customers and our members through interaction and communication on a daily basis. From our family to yours, we invite you to enjoy our gorgeous home-grown vegetables either through our Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program.
