Hey there,
It is now garlic scape season, so buckle up for all the zesty ways to use these elegant green beauties. These curly bits are the flowering part of the garlic and we remove them so that instead of the energy going to the flower it goes to making the bulb to make it larger. The nice benefit of these scapes is that they are edible, a bit spicy and super pretty.
Some ideas for these beauties is pickled, made into pesto, bbqed like asparagus, dehydrated and used as an herb, chopped and used like garlic in all your favourite dishes, raw or cooked.
They also last a long time in the fridge, so don't stress about using them right away.
