Hey there,
We are in the full bean and zucchini dump part of summer, and I'm excited to put some away for winter, but the another item that comes in waves is sunflowers, based on how we plant, they always seem to come all at once and then we have to wait for the next crop/variety. The other flowers are starting to come on as well. Some beautiful reds, peaches, and bicolor pinks.
Some other veggies that we will be swimming in soon may be the shishito peppers. These neat little peppers are often fried quickly in a hot pan until blistered, a little salt, maybe some lemon, then snacked on alone or with a dip. This is also an easy way to prepare all these beans as well, quick, easy and snackable as a side or appetizer. We will often cook our poblano peppers and eggplant this way on the bbq as well, eating them with a slight blister/char or peeling them to use for different dips, spreads, curries or other recipes.
