Hi everyone,
We're starting up the final stretch of our spring Farm Share, with five more weeks added as of Friday. For the last ten years, June has been Eat Local Challenge month in New Orleans. All in-person events are cancelled this year, but luckily for you, you have plenty of local food coming your way this month. There's an impressive array of veggies and fruits available here this time of year, and we're excited to be able to include lots of variety in our shares right now.
We're rolling in cukes, zukes, and squash and we've got beautiful creole tomatoes from Poché Family Farm. We have some really nice braising mix from our Bywater farm (pictured), and plenty of other greens from us and Compostella Farm. This week, the yellow onions are Certified Naturally Grown, right from our farm on the West Bank! Look for blueberries, mushrooms, and other locally sourced products in the extras section too.
Take care and enjoy the local abundance!
Annie and Cheryl
