It's 2021! New year, new president, new farm share season!
We're excited to be up and running again, although as you can tell from the picture that it's been a bit chilly - frosty even at times - and so things are still growing slowly. Pretty soon though, everything will be growing like crazy and it will be hard to keep up. The 19 week spring season will take us through from winter to spring to summer crops, with lovely roots and greens now, through all the fruiting crops of the summer like cucumbers, eggplants, peppers, and tomatoes. We have pasture-raised Local Cooling Farm eggs, Too Tall Farm fresh ginger and turmeric, and delicious, juicy organic grapefruits from L'Hoste orchard in our extras section. (FYI we'll be adding strawberries very soon - possibly this week, you might want to check back on Tuesday or Wednesday. Growers on the North shore have been fighting the cold weather these last few weeks, but once it warms up, we should have tons of strawberries available.)
For all the new people who've signed up in the last couple weeks, welcome! I suggest you take a few minutes to familiarize yourself with how the Harvie system works. I've included some links to helpful resources below.
Please remember your masks when you pick up. Stay healthy and we'll see you in a few days!
