Farm Happenings for June 4, 2021

Hello everyone,

I hope everyone is having a great week. Here on the farm it has been the same busy schedule picking and planting. We did get our little farm hands back this week since they are home for summer vacation. Although they have summer 4-H projects to do and sports summer camps so we are still busy. We are also getting ready to start the long task of getting 1st cutting hay started this week.

Also things are starting to shift towards summer vegetables with tomatoes, cucumbers, and zucchini. Also new this week is snow peas and garlic scapes. So that means at our we will be having BLTs this week with garlic scape mayo.

Also this week starts our fruit share. This week you will see strawberries and blueberries from our farm. Also you will see some peaches from one of friends farms from down in Georgia since our peaches are a few weeks a way.

Josh and Lynne farm with their four kids in the rolling hills in Bremen OH. Our family believes in producing farm fresh quality products for consumers in the local community. We believe it is important for consumers to know where their food comes from as well as educating consumers about the important role that agriculture plays in the community. As being young farmers it is important for us to work towards providing sustainable agriculture to the community. As our operation continues, we believe it is important to become more efficient in what we are doing not only to save us time but help preserve and maintain the environment around us. Our farm continues to work and improve on conservation practices to help maintain a positive relationship between the farming operation, wildlife, and land around us.
