First Basket of 2022

Posted on May 13th, 2022 by Lynne Schultz

Hello everyone,

I hope everyone is excited as we are about the new CSA season. If you are new member this year welcome and if you are returning member welcome back. We have been super busy on the farm getting things ready for this coming season. As we start this first week please let us know if you have any problems with our CSA platform. And we try our hardest to get it fixed for you. So here is how it will work each week for you. Each Friday (may be morning and sometimes evening) you will get and email from us with items to choose from each week you will then have until Friday at noon to customize your basket. Please not if you have a home delivery please put out a cooler for your  bag. You can leave instructions on where you like to drop in the comments.

So now what is happen on the farm. We have been super busy this week getting things in the ground due to this warm weather and a earlier frost date. We just got all of our peppers and first planting of watermelon in the ground  2 weeks earlier. So hopefully that means earlier peppers and watermelon. Strawberries are looking great this year although there are no strawberries ready for the first week CSA, cross your fingers we will have them for the coming week. This week's basket is full of greens and spring root crops. We promise only the first two weeks will be this way by the third week we should other vegetables to choose from.  We have peas that are almost ready and tomatoes will be starting soon as well as strawberries.

On side note, if you signed up during that early bird time. You will be getting your one pound of ground beef this delivery. You will get you chicken in late June early July when our first first batch of meat chickens go to the processor.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Here is to great 2022 CSA season,

The Schultz Family
