I hope this email finds you well. We wanted to share some highlights from our week here on the farm.
The weather has been fantastic, allowing Josh to make significant progress in the grain harvest. He's been operating the grain cart tirelessly, working on harvesting corn and soybeans. The grain harvest is gradually coming to an end, and we're pleased with the results so far.
In addition to the farm activities, basketball season is officially kicking off this weekend. The boys are geared up for their first games, and Sadie is excited about her first scrimmages. It's always an exhilarating time of the year for the kids.
Taking a break from the farm routine, we enjoyed a special tradition on Thursday. I took the three youngest up to Columbus for our yearly visit to The Ohio National Chicken Show. It was a delightful experience for them as they spent the night exploring various breeds of chickens, ducks, geese, and turkeys. To add to the excitement, we picked up some new chickens and ducks, making the trip back home quite lively with a truck full of birds.
On the farm produce front, we have an abundance of greens and root crops this week. Let's shine the spotlight on carrots! Here are five recipes and ideas on how to make the most of this nutritious and versatile vegetable.
