Exciting Updates from the Farm!

Posted on July 25th, 2024 by Lynne Schultz

Greetings from the farm!

We hope this message finds you well. As we move through summer, we are busy preparing for the upcoming fall season and making the most of these sunny days before our hardworking team heads back to school and sports.

We've made significant progress recently. All our strawberry plants are now in the ground, and we’ve completed a large planting of fall crops, ensuring a bountiful harvest in the months to come.

This week, the farm is bursting with delicious produce, including an abundance of peppers, tomatoes, and melons. With so many tasty options to choose from, we're excited to feature one of our favorites: the cantaloupe!

### Storing Cantaloupe
To enjoy your cantaloupe at its best:
- Store whole cantaloupes at room temperature until they ripen.
- Once ripe, move them to the refrigerator where they can last up to a week.
- After cutting, keep cantaloupe in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days.

### Delicious Cantaloupe Recipes
Here are three delightful recipes to make the most of this sweet and juicy fruit:

1. **Cantaloupe Smoothie**
- Blend together cantaloupe chunks, Greek yogurt, a splash of orange juice, and a few ice cubes for a refreshing and nutritious start to your day.

2. **Prosciutto-Wrapped Cantaloupe**
- Wrap cantaloupe slices with thinly sliced prosciutto for a simple yet elegant appetizer that’s perfect for summer gatherings.

3. **Cantaloupe Salad**
- Combine diced cantaloupe with cucumber, feta cheese, mint leaves, and a drizzle of balsamic glaze for a light and flavorful salad.

We hope you enjoy these recipes and the wonderful variety of produce available this week. Thank you for being a part of our farm family, and have a fantastic week!

Warm regards,

The Schultz Family
