Finally, some rain! We had a really nice ¾” of rain on Sunday, which will really help with the fall crops. There were flocks of geese flying over this morning, and with the cooler temperatures it definitely feels like the season is changing. Summers are very intense here, and we’re starting to feel a little run down, so we’re alright with slowing down a little for the fall. There’s still lots going on and will be until October, but we’re over the hump now.
The peppers are starting to get into gear. We’re picking green bell peppers this week, but leaving lots to turn red yet. The jalapenos are not loaded as heavy as last year, but the peppers are big. And the sweet bull’s horn peppers (Carmen) are loaded! Should be ripening soon. I don’t know if anyone else likes hot peppers as much as I do but I’m happy to see that the habaneros are finally setting on fruit! We also have potatoes this week again. These are from a friend who has lots in her garden. Our potatoes are not doing well this year, too hot and dry. And a small amount of head lettuce is ready this week as well.
There's lots of selection at this time of year so feel free to swap for what you want!
Sorry this is coming out so late, we took some time off this weekend to celebrate our 17th anniversary!
Have a great week!
