No more digging potatoes! This is our latest machine, a potato digger for the tractor. We're all pretty pumped about it! It's now officially fall, and still no frost! We made it past the full moon without frost, so we might be fine for another week or two. In any case, we're starting to cover some of the crops with row cover to keep them warmer.

Farm Happenings for September 18, 2024
Hey, we have corn this week! Friends of ours at Leoville grew a huge patch of sweet corn this year, so we're getting from them. I believe the variety is Northern Extra Sweet.

These last two days have been just amazing! Beautifully warm, no wind, and a bit of smoke in the air makes for some interesting colours. We’ll take every nice day we get, because any time it could turn cold.

Every once in a while things just line up and work out great! Our salad turnips this week are one of those things. They’re beautifully white and free of worm damage, and growing in a mostly weed free bed. The arugula and radishes are also looking awesome!
