Hello members!
This is the 4th and final box for the season! Its been an good one until the very end...
We plan to do a few winter/holiday deliveries starting in 2 weeks if you are in need of more vegetables and pastured meats. If you want to know when we are doing these deliveries, please sign up to be on the Farm Stand mailing list- you will find it on the top right hand side of page
Thank you so much for being members, supporting your small organic growers and committing to eating seasonally and locally- its not always easy!
Here is what you may have in you box this week:
Cauliflower- Fall cauliflower is the best! Keeps very well in the fridge. So great roasted until a bit caramelized with olive oil, garlic and s&p.
Roasted Cauliflower with tahini sauce
Cabbage- most of you got a beautiful purple savoy type (wrinkly leaves), othersg ot a nice big purple cabbage. The savoy is great in soups and the red cabbage is great to be roasted, sauteed or made into a pretty saurkraut.
Rainbow Carrots- Thesea are great roasted, grated into salad or diced into a soup.
Celery- This celery is tiny, but packs a punch! Keeps well in the fridge in a plastic bag. Great in a soup base.
Brussels Sprouts- 1lb- Brussels roasted with bacon is the best!
Pasta with brussels sprouts and bacon
Winter Squash Combo- Everyone got 2- a mix of delicata, autumn frost butternut, classic butternut, acorn, sweet dumpling and spaghetti/
Purple Napa Cabbage- This napa is not the largest but it can be used for a quick kimchi or used fresh, too.
Potatoes- Red potatoes. Keep out of light.
FRESH Onions, red- somehow these made it in the field and regrew after being mowed! so we thought we'd give them to you. Use the green part as a scallion, too!
garlic- 2 bulbs each
Salad Mix- .5 lb
Spinach- .5 lb
Radishes-
parsley- a great herb to top a soup! or chimichurri!
Have a great winter and we hope to see you next year!
