Pork tenderloin available this week! Also beef ribeye steaks, NY strip steaks, ground beef, and all of our pork selection. For these specialty cuts and beef, you can swap out an item to get a tenderloin or beef or you can add the item to your pork share. Remember to look for the green bar that says that you have remaining value to use for this week. We are at a seasonal transition with our piglets, hogs, sows, and boar. It's time for 35 newly weaned piglets to get vaccinated and learn about electric fences, and 16 older, fence trained piglets to be moved to a fresh grass pasture with a shade shelter and sprinkler fed mud wallow for cooling in the mud on the hot days. Some of our sows will be bred for late fall piglets, and our oldest sow, Flopsy, who is 8 years old, has had her 13th litter- 9 black and white striped piglets! She is slowing down, but still the most careful mother.

Farmers Marie Williamson and William Lyons started Bluebird Farm in 2009 on the land that Marie grew up on in Morganton, North Carolina. They earn their livelihood growing food on the farm, and love the beauty of food and land. They are passionate about the art of grazing livestock, and they feed their meat hogs certified organic grains. They work hard to raise healthy, flavorful vegetables, pastured meats, and eggs using biological techniques that improve the health of their land and contribute to a diverse farm ecosystem.
